What exactly do you need a social media manager to do? Be as specific as possible in your job posting.
How much are you willing to pay for this service?
Ideally, you want to find someone who has experience managing social media accounts for businesses similar to yours.
Ask to see examples of their work to get an idea of their style and capabilities.
Talk to other businesses who have used the freelancer's services to get a sense of their work ethic and quality of work.
Before hiring someone on a long-term basis, consider working with them on a trial basis to see if they're a good fit.
Make sure you're both on the same page about what the scope of work will be and what you expect in terms of results.
Once you've found someone you want to work with, be sure to get everything in writing so there are no misunderstandings down the road.
Be available to answer any questions the freelancer has and provide feedback on their work regularly.
